The war in Iraq is in one way a blessing that has happened to the world. It was a great historic lesson to the US, which it will never forget and it will have long-lasting effects on planet Earth. Henceforth no nation will be able to start unilaterally a war without bringing the issue to the United Nations. If one of them does, world public opinion will arise again in millions of people’s demonstrations around our globe.

The same image should guide UN officials. I keep in my office the shattered helmet of a dead soldier from World War II, to remind me why I am here.

Happy Anniversary, Robert and Barbara!!!

I am delighted to know that we share the same wedding anniversary on June 27^th!

Having met you both in January 1997 at your home in Costa Rica, I have a deep appreciation of you and your work in the world together.

My husband and I were married in 1964 and we parted in 1984. Then a miracle happened on May Day in 2004 when we were joyously re-married! 20/20 = clear vision. Now we are living happily ever after and today we are celebrating the remembrance of our first marriage to one another 42 years ago.

Blessings and love to you on this special day.

Reading the 212 pages of Ideas on Peace excerpted from my 6000 Ideas and Dreams for a Better World several new ideas come to me. Here is one:

The Secretary General of the UN should decide that in each department and major UN agency and program an official or a small unit should be entrusted with the sole task of ‘thinking’, of having ideas, visions, dreams and specific plans for the present and the future of the world and humanity.

Together these efforts could bring about a change of course of humanity, a big step forward toward paradise Earth.
