Ending War

~ Idea 99 ~ 17 October 1994

Each human being should make this commitment to peace:

Decide to be peaceful
Render others peaceful
Be a model of peace
Radiate your peace
Love passionately the peace
of our beautiful planet
Do not listen to the warmongers,
hateseeders and powerseekers
Dream always of a peaceful,
warless, disarmed world
Think always of a peaceful world
Work always for a peaceful world
Switch on and keep on, in yourself,
the peaceful buttons,
those marked love,
serenity, happiness, truth,
kindness, friendliness
understanding and tolerance
Pray and thank God every day for peace
Pray for the United Nations
and all peacemakers
Pray for the leaders of nations
who hold the peace of the world
in their hands
Pray God to let our planet at long last
become the Planet of Peace
And sing in unison with all humanity:
"Let there be peace on Earth
And let it begin with me."

Robert's Golden Sayings
One says: “Your insult does not touch me.” How right these words are! The body feels a pain because it is hit or touched, because I offer a resistance. The mind can retract, offer no resistance and as a result not be touched or hurt. This is an art of living to be developed and taught. It will render ineffective and suppress much mental and verbal violence. Socrates was a great expert and teacher of it.

-A Contribution to the 50th Anniversary of the United Nations, 1995, Chapter 6

If people could have for the world and humanity the same love they have today for their nation, it would be the biggest step ahead towards world peace.

"What is required for effective change is continuity of sincere effort to release and let go of inefficient thought patterns from the past...Sincerity means a deeper heart commitment to the task. "

If we begin to get in touch with whatever we feel with some kind of kindness, our protective shells will melt, and we'll find that more areas of our lives are workable.
